TATE SEDAR’s latest drop, “OVERLOAD,” is an unapologetic, in-your-face blend of electro and raw break rhythms that rips straight through the chaos of the past year. Just released, this track throbs with heavy basslines that hit as hard as the obstacles he’s tackled recently. “OVERLOAD” captures the tough times of the past year, channeled into gnarly sounds after a brutal laptop crash and a year full of setbacks. Offbeat drums, hip-hop edge, and bass house vibes collide here, bringing a silver-lining to the situation while having genres collide.
Growing up in London, TATE got addicted to the unfiltered power of breakbeat from day one. He spent his youth digging through record crates, building a collection inspired by everyone from Stanton Warriors to underground Daft Punk white label remixes. He learned his skills at Point Blank Music School, transitioning from grime and dubstep in East London to spinning in LA’s underground—all while staying true to the raw breakbeat energy. TATE makes tracks that tell the story of his influences, from trance and big beat playlists on his iPod to the breakbeat moments that never leaves his sets.
In recent years, TATE SEDAR has made a name for himself sharing the stage with heavyweights like Don Diablo and Cash Cash, racking up millions of streams with his unique ‘post-EDM’ sound. He played at the 2020 EDC Virtual Rave-a-Thon and keeps getting love from major dance music outlets. Despite the roadblocks, “OVERLOAD” proves TATE is unstoppable, pushing limits and putting his journey front and center with every release.
