TATE SEDAR’s story begins in London, where his passion for music took root as he scoured record shops from Brighton to New York and San Francisco, amassing a diverse vinyl collection. His experience at Point Blank Music School and exposure to London’s eclectic EDM scene in the early 2000s shaped his unique sound, influenced by grime, UK garage, and dubstep. Inspired by artists like BT, Moby, and Air, TATE found solace in breakbeat, which became a defining feature of his live sets and productions.
TATE performed at the 2020 EDC Virtual Rave-a-Thon, which led to his signing with Insomniac Artists. By late 2023, he amassed over 5.7 million plays across platforms, featured on EDM.com, Dancing Astronaut, and WeRaveYou. He shared stages with artists like Don Diablo and Dada Life at venues such as Academy LA and Avalon Hollywood. His work extends beyond music, addressing social issues with releases like his remix of Terrell Carter’s “Hero” and his tribute to those affected by the Russo-Ukrainian conflict through his reimagining of Justin Bieber’s “Hold On.”
His latest release, “Overload,” digs deep into the ups and downs of 2024. From a laptop crash that risked his music archive to production challenges, the track captures the chaos of the year. With electro house and breakbeat energy, “Overload” embodies an unyielding spirit, forging a new chapter in TATE SEDAR’s transforming artistic journey.
