TATE SEDAR’s newest single, “Coming Home (I.M.U),” feels like a personal letter wrapped in electro house euphoria. The title, the last part being short for “I Miss You,” sets the tone for a track that marries homesick female vocals with a festival-ready energy. It’s a return to his progressive house roots, but with a twist—TATE’s signature ‘post-EDM’ sound brings an intriguing mix of old-school vibes and modern electroacoustic elements. Listening to it, you can almost picture the rolling hills and eclectic architecture of San Francisco, a city that clearly lives in his heart.
But getting here wasn’t easy. In 2023, SEDAR found himself caught in a whirlwind of shows, with little time to create. That forced him to take a step back and ask some tough questions about his identity as an artist. Five years ago, he moved to Los Angeles, diving headfirst into the city’s nightlife and experimenting with a range of genres. The vibrant music scene—garage, dance-pop, house—shaped his sound, while mentors like Wolfgang Gartner and Deniz Koyu added their own influence. Slowly, the pieces of his new style started to come together.
Now, his journey feels like it’s hitting its stride. SEDAR has performed at venues like Academy LA and worked with names like Dada Life. His track “Heaven” caught ears on major radio, while remixes like his tribute to the Russo-Ukrainian war show a thoughtful side to his artistry. With “Coming Home,” he ties his personal story to the music, blending past and present into something truly his own.
