Can you believe we are 3 weeks away from Electric Forest!!

This is my first year attending, and I am beyond excited. Like most of you, I have made my lists, done my research, and started preparing, planning, and packing for this unique experience!

Throughout this article, I wanted to give everyone the 411 and my guide to Electric Forest to hopefully help those who are wanting to go. I am going with a big group of first-timers, and the amount of research and preparation I have put into this is crazy!

WHAT IS ELECTRIC FOREST

Electric Forest is a four-day multi-genre music festival held in Rothbury, Michigan, at the Double JJ Resort, produced by Madison House Presents and Insomniac Events. It

Held inside a forest known as Sherwood Forest, the event highlights the beauty of the natural world around it by combining art, installations, music, nature, performances, whimsy, and light, making it truly a one-of-a-kind event.

THE LINEUP

Joining the Electric Forest Residents, The String Cheese Incident (performing 2 Incidents), on the top of the bill are With artists like ODESZA, Illenium, Zeds Dead, Above & Beyond, Jamie xx, Gryffin, Lane 8, REZZ, SOFI TUKKER, Goose, Ganja White Night, Chris Lake, Madeon, and Chromeo, words cannot express my excitement for this lineup! And those are just the headliners. Additional artists on the line-up include BLOND:ISH, Apashe, 070 Shake, Infected Mushroom, CID, Channel Tres, J.Worra, Zingara, AMÉMÉ, Kasablanca, San Holo,  Dabin, Hayden James, marching band MEUTE, dubstep producer PEEKABOO, singer-songwriter sensation SG Lewis, SVDDEN DEATH PRESENTS: VOYD, Virtual Riot, and many more.

COVID-19 SAFETY

There is no vaccination, testing, or masking requirements at Electric Forest 2023. However,  to continue to take care of one another – get vaccinated, test before arriving at The Forest, and wear a mask. If, within 5 days of your planned arrival at The Forest, you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or you test positive for COVID-19, or you should be isolating or quarantining in accordance with CDC guidelines, please make a responsible decision, stay home and do not endanger the health and safety of the Forest Family.

TRAVELING TO AND FROM THE FESTIVAL

FLIGHTS

Electric Forest is located in Rothbury, Michigan. It is about 30 minutes from Muskegon and an hour from Grand Rapids. For those that are flying, most fly into:

• Muskegon
• Detroit
• Chicago

From there, you can either rent a car (if they’re of age) or take a shuttle.

SHUTTLES

There are one-way and roundtrip shuttles to and from the airports. They have pickups with major airports and other landmarks. You can find the information here. You can purchase round-trip or one-way tickets if you need to. Make sure to review the FAQ for information on luggage accommodation and stops.

DRIVING

If you are driving to the forest, as you near exit 136(Winston Rd), you will see signs for the event. Stay in the right lane and be conscious of traffic delays. Follow the road signs for The Campgrounds you’re looking for. Please reference your arrival instructions if you’re staying in Lodging at Electric Forest, your entry to the event may differ.

WHERE TO STAY

Electric Forest is a camping festival that offers different campgrounds and RV spots. The newest addition to the campgrounds is Lucky Lake, a brand-new lakeside campground. It offers a peaceful Maplewoods-esque tent and waterfront RV spots with power and water hookups. Who wouldn’t love to hang lakeside and go for a swim during the day and enjoy nightly HQ-hosted beachside bonfires?

Also, Camp Good Times is evolving to Camp Higher Love! Camp Higher Love is an exclusive campground north of Maplewood that has controlled access and is reached via a quick dedicated path near the Main Entrance. This campground offers larger camping spaces, features a shuttle running direct to the main entrance, and includes the Higher Love Lounge along with private air-conditioned restrooms and showers.

If you are not the camping type, there are off-site options like hotels and motels. If you are staying off-site and plan to leave each night, you will want to use the Day Parking Lot.

WHERE TO BUY TICKETS

Tickets are sold out within moments they became available, but you could still find one through social media, trusted sellers, or join the waitlist on their Official Wristband Exchange. If you sign up on their ticket exchange and a ticket becomes available, your card will automatically be charged.

Additionally, there is a Plug-In Program that offers volunteer and work exchange options.
