2021 was a challenging year for a lot of us as the pandemic continued to rage on but things did start to return to normalcy. Events started to come back to Arizona in the spring and we got to return to festivals here with Phoenix Lights. The event was a massive success over three days and that success carried over to Relentless Beats’ annual NYE festival, Decadence.

Decadence, the two-day festival at Rawhide Events Center had its biggest setup to date with two massive stages featuring a megastructure for the main stage, The Grand Palace, hosting the hottest artists in the industry. The production was as top-tier as any festival in the country. Huge LEDs blared over the crowd with continuous pyrotechnics, lots of confetti blasted at the most opportune moments, and lots of other production elements thrown in to make the spectacle something truly special.

On day 1, the likes of Alesso, Seven Lions, Alison Wonderland, Kaskade, and DJ Snakes graced the stage. Alesso and Kaskade brought their feel good progressive sound and made the crowd as emotional as it could get. Everyone could be seen singing along to their well-known songs and dancing to their infectious beats. The other three artists all brought their heavier sound to the stage while DJ Snake closed the stage with his highly energetic set.
Over at the Royal Ballroom stage, Purple Disco Machine threw a dance party where everyone was grooving along to the music. Madeon brought a DJ set featuring all of his hits which put the crowd in a frenzy before Chris Lake closed things out with his wild set continuing the never-ending party.

Day 2 turned things up a notch as we sprinted closer to the new year. The night started with more energetic progressive sets from Lost Kings and Alan Walker at the main stage while Destructo and Fisher were getting the party going over at the Royal Ballroom. Fisher continued what Chris Lake started and threw down a tech house full of bangers (yes, he did play “Losing It”). New year’s was now just about here as Dillon Francis held a tribute to Betty White and then a short time later dropped the ball. The crowd was a frenzy throughout his set as we saw the close of 2021 and the new light of 2022. The night continued on with Marshmello gracing the stage for his only NYE set of the year and Excision closing things out with his colossal sound. Sonny Fodera dropped the ball over at the Royal Ballroom stage with a house party while Gordo and Loud Luxury brought the night to an end.

Things then sadly came to an end as the crowd left the venue in awe of what they saw. Everyone seemed to be baptized by the music and the production, shedding the weight that 2021 brought them and feeling renewed as we entered in one year and exited in another. It was exactly the thing everyone needed to close the year with and Relentless Beats could not have thrown a better party. Along with the amazing music, the festival featured tons of other attractions such as a roller rink, local artists and businesses, plus more. It was truly a great time and we can’t wait to see what else Relentless Beats has in store for us in Arizona this year.
