Cancelled Thunder Beats Promoters Sued for Lack of Refunds

Earlier this year, Thunder Ranch Entertainment Group announced the Thunder Beats Music Festival to take place April 22nd through 24th in Pensacola, Florida. The festival came with an impressive lineup for a first-year event including Marshmello, Kaskade, deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Adventure Club, Dillon Francis, RL Grime and more.

In March the promoters released the following statement:

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Thunder Beats Music Festival for 2022. A lot of hard work and effort was put into the event’s planning, but ultimately if we can not produce Thunder Beats to the high standards we have set for ourselves, we will not do it. We hope to regroup and revisit the concept when we have ample time and resources to produce an event that our fans deserve.

Reading between the lines, this usually is code for ‘cancelled due to low ticket sales.’

More recently, a class action lawsuit was filed against the promoters for not refunding presale tickets sold to fans.

Olivia Iverson, a reporter with WEAR 3 tv station in Pensacola spoke with the promoters in April who gave the following statement:

The organizers noted that ticketholders who bought tickets on payment plans were charged even after the event was cancelled and refunds for the incorrect charges were forthcoming.
