Who are the top 5 must-see artists at Suwannee Hulaween? I’m here to help you out because Halloween is less than a month away and there is nothing more thrilling than spending the weekend of October 31st at a music festival. Music fans from around the globe are journeying to Live Oak, Florida for the annual Suwannee Hulaween festival to do exactly that.

Like many festivals, Hulaween was canceled last year due to the COVID crisis. This year’s festival was quick to sell out, with an attendance of 20,000.

The four-day event (or three, depending on which ticket package you purchase), will be hosted by The String Cheese Incident. This renowned bluegrass band is based out of Colorado and has been headlining the festival since its beginning in 2013.

Other headliners for this year are Skrillex, Leon Bridges, gifted-musical trio Khruangbin. The monumental lineup will feature around 100 artists from a wide variety of genres. The theme of this year’s camping festival is “Monster Mash”.

With multiple stages, it is nearly impossible to see all the great acts that will be performing. To help you out, I’ve decided to count down the top five must-see artists at this year’s Hulaween.

5. Lane 8

Lane 8, DJ, deep house

For those of you unfamiliar with deep house, Daniel Goldstein (known as Lane 8) is one of its kings. Lane 8 has been dominating the deep house and progressive house scenes since 2015. He’s released notable tracks like “Run” and his remix of Virtual Self’s “Ghost Voices”.

This talented DJ and producer has been featured on the Anjunadeep label and launched his own popular label named This Never Happened.

One of the amazing things about Lane 8 is that he strongly advises against and even prohibits (in some cases) the usage of cell phones and cameras at his shows. This allows the attendees to live in the moment and fully appreciate his live sets.

Lane 8 has been on a tear over the last few years. In January of 2020, he released Brightest Lights, a melodic house masterpiece including the soothing track “Road”, with pop sensation Arctic Lake.

During his set at Hulaween, attendees will most likely get to hear “Riptide” and “Oh, Miles”, his 2021 singles. If you are planning on attending Suwannee Hulaween, Lane 8’s set is an experience you will not want to miss.

4. Claude VonStroke

Claude VonStroke, dirtybird, tech house, techno, underground

The father of the underground house scene Claude VonStroke is next up on my list. This producer founded the record label Dirtybird in 2005, which has exponentially grown since its birth.

VonStroke is responsible for discovering and promoting artists in the industry. Also known as A&R for “artists and repertoire” or talent seeking, he’s helped prominent producers such as Fisher, Justin Martin, Shiba San, as well as a myriad of others. He has also grown his record label into a brand that holds its own festivals and even has a clothing line.

Each one of VonStroke’s sets is unique and can feature any track from his six albums (four original artist albums, a remix album, and a live album).

He has officially released two funky EPs this year. One EP is with Walker & Royce and the most recent one is with Nala. These EPs truly embody VonStroke’s underground persona, featuring the mesmerizing tracks of “Enthusiasm” and “Everything Is Burning”. Arguably his most influential track is his remix of “An Evidence Of Time” by Rodriguez Jr.

Get ready for a set that will put your body and mind in a trance.

3. LSDREAM

LSDREAM, wubz, dubstep, riddim, Wakaan

Sami Diament, better known as Brillz and LSDREAM is a wubz (stemming from dubstep) producer and DJ that has accumulated a rapidly growing fan base over the last couple of years.

After struggling with anxiety and depression, LSDREAM is a proud advocate of self-love and self-awareness. The inspirational producer puts his heart and soul into every track he creates.

LSDREAM’s sets are characterized by intense colorful visuals and a barrage of bass that makes it impossible to refrain from headbanging.

LSDREAM’s breakout album Renegades of Light (2019) took listeners on a psychedelic voyage into themselves and the intriguing world around them. The album encompassed tracks that reflect LSDREAM’s creativity and distinct sound, such as “SHADOW SELF” and “ETERNAL NOW”.

Just a week ago, he released his third studio album known as PEACE LOVE AND WUBZ. This new album was highly anticipated for months and has clearly exceeded its already high expectations.

The collection of songs has a deep underlying meaning that LSDREAM has strived to deliver to his fans. Among the tracks are synth-fueled sensations “FOLLOW THE VIBE” with Taylr Renee and “HIGH VIBRATIONS”.

It will be a set that is guaranteed to burn brightly in your memory for a very long time.

2. Jungle

Jungle, band, alternative, rock, electronic

Up next is Jungle, a British electronic-alternative music project founded in 2013. It consists of prodigal producers Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland.

This group places emphasis on their surrounding artwork and video performances instead of solely focusing on their musical identity. This forges a quality all-around display for their audience.

Additionally, they adapted their duo into a seven-piece band to transform their songs into an interactive and organic live experience.

2014 was the release of their debut album Jungle. It was very successful because it yielded an immense attraction towards the band. The compilation’s top track, “Busy Earnin’”, instantly shot up the charts and played frequently on BBC radio.

Video games FIFA 15 and Forza Horizon 2 as well as TV shows Brooklyn Nine-Nine feature their songs. , Their live performances have also been on popular talk shows Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Laye Show with Stephen Colbert.

In August of this year, Jungle released Loving in Stereo, an album that features an assortment of groovy tracks such as “Keep Moving”.

Be one of the first to see this spectacular album performed live at Suwannee Hulaween!

1. Skrillex

Skrillex, dubstep, headliner, EDM

Finally, whether you are an EDM fan or not, Skrillex has become a household name over the course of the last decade. The superstar has expanded his production capabilities to become much more than one of dubstep’s pioneers.

His second EP, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, was a booming commercial success and launched his rise to the top of the electronic dance music scene. His side projects of Dog Blood (with Boys Noize) and Jack Ü (with Diplo) are some of the biggest names in music.

To top it off, Skrillex has won eight Grammy Awards which is more than any other EDM artist in history.

Needless to say, Skrillex has proficiently demonstrated his versatility when it comes to creating hits in multiple genres of music.

In 2016, his album Skrillex and Diple Present Jack Ü won the best dance/electronic album, and “Where Are Ü Now” won the best dance recording at the Grammy Awards. Skrillex’s tracks and music videos have received billions of views on YouTube.

In addition, the producer is also an extremely talented DJ as well as a captivating performer. His sets and mixing techniques leave crowds speechless.

Lately, Skrillex has dove into new genres which expanded his reach to music fans everywhere.

His reggaeton track “In Da Ghetto” with J. Balvin is a club favorite for DJs to get the crowd pumped up and dancing.

Also this year, he released experimental bass tracks “Supersonic” and “Butterflies”. There is no way to prepare yourself for what Skrillex will bring to the table for his headlining performance.

In conclusion, the only thing we can know for sure is that it will be a set that defines the EDM world for years to come.
