The Best Rave Shoes for Imagine Music Festival

Every festival has its own tips and tricks to help attendees thrive and survive- which means that shoes are no different! So, I’m sharing the best rave shoes for Imagine Music Festival 2021! After 4 years of attending all different types of festivals (Raceways, Farms, Cities, Baseball Stadiums, etc.) I’ve realized there is definitely an art to picking the right shoes for your outfit, but also for the environment that you’re going to be in!

Imagine Music Festival is at an all new location for 2021! This means there will likely be a lot more walking compared to previous years. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes so you’re able to easily get to and from the venue. As of now (09/05) there have not been any announcements of transportation inside the grounds!

Platforms

In full disclosure, I might be a little bias towards Dr. Marten’s platforms. I’ve been buying these shoes since my first rave in 2017 and I couldn’t imagine any other shoe riding with me through these crazy events! The shoes are endlessly comfortable, wear tremendously well, and are always in style. There are other stores that have a great platform that I also highly recommend checking out: Roc Boots, Koi Footwear, LaModa. Although they are an investment, my ones from 2017 are still alive and kicking! It’s all about how you care for and maintain them.

These beauties are my tried and true rave boots. Although currently deadstock- here are some alternatives that are slightly similar! However, if you manage to find a pair, beware of the weight of the shoes themselves- they can be a little heavy. If you buy them, I recommend wearing them around for a couple weeks prior to the event so you’re not exhausted lugging them around!

If the tall boots aren’t for you, these are the next best option! Dr. Marten’s has quite a few different ‘size’ options on their platforms. Although, I’ve found this is a great size and pair for beginners and seasoned platform wearers alike. The Bex Smooth Platform boots match any outfit!

A new addition to the Dr. Marten’s platform lineup, the platform sandel, but a heater none-the-less. If you’re looking for a shoe that keeps your feet breathing and comfortable, while also looking cute & stylish- these are the ones for you! The soles are soft, but firm, and the straps are smooth so you don’t have to worry about blisters!

Sneakers

Clearly- this is an option that we all should be entertaining when planning festival looks. Sneakers are always a clear choice- especially for locations like Imagine where you’ll be doing quite a bit of walking. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some amazing sneaker out there for you to rock the shit out of though! Here are my top 3 favorite sneaker options that you should consider for Imagine Music Festival this year.

Platform sneakers are always a great option for events! Not only are they comfortable, but it’s nice to have the extra inches when you’re in the crowd! I always opt for something that’s going to last the longest and I’ve found those are always Naked Wolf. Something I always say, quality over quantity.

A great option if you’re looking for practicality and comfort! Vans are always a reliable, and solid, choice for any festival. Since Imagine’s new grounds are 9+ acres, make sure you have something comfortable!

Sandals

Having a trusted pair of sandals at any event is essential! These should always be your go-to when you’re walking around the campsites or just wandering through the grounds. There are tons of different options available, but there are clearly a few that I personally have found are far superior to others! But truly- the aim is to have something convenient and easy.

Chacos are a large fan-favorite when it comes to the festival world. Not only do they have a ton of different style options (although I personally prefer slides) and they have TONS of colors. These babies will conform to your foot-structure & have an amazing heel padding. These require little ‘prep’ work to break them in and tend to be a more affordable option compared to Birks.

If you’d prefer to have something that’s a little more ‘attached’- then Teva’s are the route for you! They have not only THE comfiest platform for your feet (IMO) but their straps are also VERY foot friendly. Although I would recommend a little prep work with these babies before the event just to make sure you avoid blisters in new areas that you aren’t use to having straps rub.

Birkenstocks are a shoe option that every festival goer should have in their closet. They are insanely comfortable and completely adhere to the shape of your feet the more you wear them. Although I highly encourage anyone who has them to properly break them in prior to taking them to an event!

Having the right pair of shoes for a festival is always an essential and the decisions of ‘which’ shoes you pack should be an important one! Imagine Music Festival is moving to a new location for 2021 which means more space and MORE walking. Don’t be a victim of uncomfortable shoes on the first day of the event- especially if you’re planning on attending the pre-shows on Thursday!
