LexinFlexin is one of the most creative flow artists we know, and it’s hard to overstate her value to the flow community. As a mentor and flow arts influencer in the community, she regularly creates top-tier content, sharing her skills and knowledge with new and seasoned artists. Here’s an inside scoop on the life of LexinFlexin.

What is your name, and where are you from?

My name is Lexi, and I’m originally from Indiana, but now I live in beautiful Colorado.

How long have you been flowing & how did you get started?

I’ve been flowing since October of 2016, so almost 5 years! I saw someone walking past me with a light whip at Bonnaroo ‘16, and the rest is history!

What is your favorite type of flow art and why?

My favorite flow art to do is light whip, but my favorite to watch is probably gloving.

What is your favorite environment to flow in?

My favorite environment to flow in is for sure a music festival or at a show, but since there weren’t any in the past year, I’ve fallen in love with flowing at the park by the lake.

What is your favorite song or genre to listen to while flowing?

I listen to a lot of Odesza when I flow! I usually listen to more melodic music when I’m flowing, but I also really enjoy some dubstep.

What or who inspires you in your flow art journey?

Honestly, the entire flow community inspires me! From watching people come up with new moves/combos to just connecting and chatting with others about flow, the flow arts community is my main source of inspiration. Everyone is so supportive and so talented; it’s impossible to not be inspired!

What is one piece of advice for someone who is just starting out?

DON’T GIVE UP! We all have to start our flow journey somewhere, and you won’t be good right away, but once you see your progress down the road, it’s SO satisfying!
