The Picard Brothers have been instrumental in shaping contemporary music over the past few years. The French duo’s songwriting and production credits reads like a who’s who of global icons – from Beyonce and Dua Lipa to Mark Ronson, Major Lazer and Rudimental – but for now the focus is firmly on their own burgeoning musical project.

And to kick off 2021 on a high note, they’ve released last April a true house banger titled ‘Blessing In This House’ – or another demonstration of the whole extent of their talent. A raw, stripped-back club cut, ‘Blessing In This House’ pairs gospel vocals with a deep, grooving bassline – delivering a track that captures the essence of house. It follows December’s ‘It’s Not Over’, a nostalgia-tinged single that channels the sound of French Touch into something fresh and invigorating.

Hey guys, welcome on Sidekick! Let’s start with yourself, can you tell us a bit more about the Picard Brothers?

Thanks for having us, we’re 2 Dj/Producers from France. We’re making music to dance to, and we are really bad dancers. We also produced for a bunch of tracks for artists including: Beyonce, Mark Ronson, Diplo, Madonna..

Congrats on your last gem ‘Blessing In This House’ – having received 4 magnificent remixes! What’s the story, the idea behind this record?

We have a soft spot for soulful gospel voices, it has a big emotional connection with us. Kirisma Evans is a truely gifted singer that we found after hours of listening to gospel songs on Spotify.

We were so happy when she let us flip her original song into that house gospel tune.

Tell us about the origin of your music, what are your influences?

Paris in the late 90’s early 2000’s was a really important cultural moment for us, all the French house era, Cassius, Alan Braxe and of course the Daft Punk. We always loved the fact that you didn’t have to understand this music to enjoy it, and that’s the energy that inspires us the most!

What can we expect for the rest of the year? Any clues that we could get about upcoming releases?

We have three remixes coming out soon for Myd, Para One and Palazo. And we’re planning a new release for the end of July, our new single “Best Of Me” that we are extremely proud of!
