DJ Snake Pays Tribute To Algerian Raï With His New Single “Disco Maghreb”

Played many times during showcases and festivals, the track ‘Disco Maghreb’ of DJ Snake is now available for listening. The producer, born in Paris of a French father and an Algerian mother, unveiled this Tuesday this long-awaited track in tribute to his roots.

Without surprise, the title is a real treat. The mixture between the typical sounds of the producer with the instruments and the Algerian rhythms is frankly successful. A beautiful symbiosis between the freshness of the artist and his origins. Regarding the clip, DJ Snake had already shown some stories of the shooting during the summer of 2021. The means put in place seemed quite Dantesque, and the final result is just as much.

Watch 'Disco Maghreb' :

Accompanying the title of a typical visual, shot in the Algerian west, colorful and energetic, in the image of rai, this song is punctuated by the gasba (traditional wind instrument) and by the dance steps of men, women and children of the country.

Finally, this clip could not end without a nod to the king of raï, Cheb Khaled, who signs the outro, on images of young people running on their mopeds on the highway.

“I imagined “Disco Maghreb” as a bridge between different generations and origins, linking North Africa, the Arab world and beyond ! This song is very special to me, thank you all for the support ! ”
