A Piece of LA’s Underground: Soulestial Carnival’s Capriaquarius Ball

Last month Soulestial Carnival‘s, Capriaquarius Ball made it until 7am at an undisclosed location in downtown Los Angeles with an international lineup that is at the foundation of dance music.

The ball was DJ’d by the Founder of Deep House LA and NCTRNL Records, Sarkis Mikael ,Rumors Ibiza resident and All Day I Dream artist, Dead Tones,  Cafe De Anatolia‘s and Lump Record‘s DJ Aranava, a live set from female Iranian DJ Saterishamiran complimented instrumentally by LA’s Atusa Amaɳi, Soulestrial Carnival resident Josh Kwon and afro house leader, DJ Stevage.

The Burner energy was well alive and the music was above par as Sarkis Mikael showed tremendous control playing perfectly strummed guitar notes throughout his melodic and deep house set in such a way that truly parallels none.

Dead Tones, turned up the energy for a surprising and welcomed more progressive set that rallied Josh Kwon into an extended set passed the 6am expected close, as he properly capped off his unforgettable sunrise set with, ‘Cherry On Top’, by Sebastien Leger and Roy Rosenfeld, leaving promise for tomorrows.

Coming from underground desert parties in Iran and earning a residency at Rixos Hotel Clubs in Bodrum Turkey where she stood as the only female DJ in the middle-east to the stages of Lightning in a Bottle and Burning Man, Shamiran reeled in her culture with a mean four-to-the-floor tempo for a beautiful set accompanied by a didgeridoo and drums from Atusa Amaɳi.

A DJ’s DJ, Aranava, Sarkis’ older and more good looking brother, is a veteran in the scene who got his start as a radio and talk show host in Orange County and is offering a unique selection of oriental, deep and organic house, folktronica, downtempo and techno. His powerful set at the Capriaquarius Ball was one of over 3,500 events he has touched at around the globe.
