Following their recent release with favorite collaborator MLKA, Zeds Dead have returned with the fifth edition of their We Are Deadbeats compilation series via their coveted imprint, Deadbeats. The annual label compilation in a series has gained a notable reputation for showcasing emergent tastes and talents that the Canadian duo has had an eye on recently.

The newest 18-track album features some strong up-and-coming talent, including CE favorites MYTHM, Tape B, NotLö, Zingara, Abelation, and many more future rising stars. From capshun‘s left-field number “Lost” with its heavy reverb breakdowns to the paralytic drops on Smoakland‘s expansive bass track, “Rise Up,” and sfam‘s off-kilter experimentalism on the aptly-named “ahh uhh (deadbeats), all corners of underground bass are well represented on the album.

It’s no secret Zeds Dead has a special love for melding undulating bass with catchy four-on-the-floor beats. In the realm of house, look no further than BLXK MNTN’s “Take You” and spüke’s “REVIVAL” to get your fill.
