For anyone who considers themselves deeply embedded within the US underground bass movement, Florida is an indisputable hotspot for this niche subculture. That’s why Mean Mug Music (MMM) has selected the Sunshine State for their debut festival experience, Sol Fest.

What stands out most about the event is the expert billing. Set to headline Sol Fest 2022 is Minnesota, Mr. Bill, and one other TBA headliner, which fans are already taking stabs at, along with special guests LUZCID and Kursa.

Sitting atop the festival’s undercard are AHEE, ATYYA, Spicyboi leader MeSo, Ravenscoon, Toadface, and VCTRE, with second-tier acts from Black Carl! (and his side-project with VCTRE, Integrate), Mindex, The Sponges, Vibe Emissions, and a cant-miss a sunrise set from Super Future. Then there’s CE Artists to Watch Benji Robot, Josh Teed and BroMosapien, along with Common Creation, Deez, jordnmoody, Luminyst (formerly SLAVE), Ujuu, Zen Selekta, Zeplinn,

Created with beautiful intention, MMM owner Kyle Hoffman speaks to the underground bass label’s reason for creating the event:

“This is a memorial event for a dear friend, a brother that we lost last year. Quentin ‘Sol’ Rupp, we did this for you, we did this for everyone who has lost or is missing someone. We have helped create a safe place to process these emotions of pain and loss. My team and I at Sol are honored to bring something like this to light. I hope this festival will continue to help heal and bring joy as we celebrate life together!”

Hosted inside Lilypad Adventures Campground in Daniel Springs, Florida, Sol Fest will feature plenty of activities outside of the music, including interactive art installations, healing workshops, craft festival vendors, and more TBA. The goal of the event, according to Mean Mug, is to create an “intimate, illuminating world” for attendees to gather together in community and remembrance, all for the love of underground bass music.

The three-day event is taking place May 6-8 just outside of Campbellton, Florida, located in Jackson County at the northern-most part of the panhandle.
